The formal plant variety right (PVR) process for GreyStar and Eclipse avocado varieties is in progress.
In December 2015 the PVR applications were filed with the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand (IPONZ). The applications have been formally accepted as GreyStar AVO009 and Eclipse AVO010.
The PVR approval process confirms the distinctiveness, uniformity and stability of the new varieties, which have been in trials at Avogrey Orchard since 1999.
